Summit Reinsurance Services, Inc. today announced the appointment of Greg Demars as President as of January 1, 2020. Demars, a fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), originally joined the company in 2008 as currently serves as Vice President, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Claims. During his tenure at Summit Re, he has overseen pricing and underwriting for the HMO and carrier reinsurance lines of business and has assumed increasing responsibility that includes claims and operations.
Demars will replace outgoing president Mark Troutman, who will retire January 15, 2020. In making the announcement, Troutman commented:
“Summit Re has always worked hard to deliver on our promises of value, service, and financial strength in our insurance and reinsurance product and service solutions,” said Troutman. “Greg has been an integral part of building this company to those standards, and I am confident in his ability to move Summit Re forward in the same manner. I look forward to watching the company continue to grow under his leadership.”
Demars will be based in the company’s Roseville, Minnesota location, but he will also maintain an office in Summit Re’s Fort Wayne, Indiana facility.
