When you walk into Brian’s office there is no doubt that you have entered an area reserved for an avid sports fan. A Green Bay Packer stockholder, Brian displays his Packer’s memorabilia with pride! However, family pictures out shine his memorabilia. His love for football doesn’t come close to his love for his family, which includes his wife and two children.
A brief interview with Brian revealed the following:
Interviewer: Brian, can you tell me about one of the most daring or humorous incidents in your life?
Brian: After an energetic laugh, Brian began. “It’s got to be my first job out of high school! I worked in maintenance at a Jelly Stone Park in Wisconsin and as part of my job they made me dress up like Yogi Bear for children’s hayrides. Kids used to sock me in the stomach, pull my tail, and stuff hay down my costume. I guess I learned patience under adverse conditions.”
Interviewer: Who is your favorite sports-hero?
Brian: “Ray Nitschke of the Packers 60’s Glory Teams. I was lucky enough to meet him at a restaurant in Minnesota before he passed away a few years ago.”
Interviewer: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Brian: “Mostly activities with my kids. Recently my son and I took part in his scout pack’s pine wood derby. Unfortunately, our car was the slowest one in the pack. I read often to my daughter who usually walks around with a favorite book in her hand. Sometimes our activities include our dog Rosie, a beagle/labrador mix. She got her name because the Wisconsin Badgers won the Rose Bowl.”
Interviewer: Do you have a favorite movie?
Brian: “I guess I would have to say Patton. It shows what leadership can do.”
Interviewer: Is there something you just can’t stand?
Brian: Yes there is. “Arrogance.“ pause. . . I’ve seen a lot of it in the insurance business.”
Interviewer: Any comments you would like to add?
Brian: “The reason why I am in the insurance business is because I am a people person. It gives me a chance to do something positive for people in healthcare.”
